For the second straight Sunday, we Browns fans don’t have to worry about our beloved team losing and embarrassing themselves on regional television. Nope, we get to wait until Monday and worry about them getting their ass kicked on national television on Monday Night Football. Lots more on the Browns for a preview Monday. But until then, we can enjoy Sunday of non-Browns football, or as it’s referred to around the league, quality football. (Last week I went 9-5, best week of the year, bringing my season record to 38-32.)
CHICAGO at Atlanta - Who would have ever thought Kyle Orton would be a quality fantasy quarterback start? Who would have ever thought Atlanta would be 3-2? Who would have thought Michael Turner would lead the league in rushing and be the best fantasy back? Who would have thought Marty Booker would make the catch of the year? Who ever wins this game will be a surprise since they’ll be 4-2.
INDIANAPOLIS vs Baltimore - I can’t believe everyone is talking about Eli being better than Peyton. That’s simply not the case. Eli has a much better team at a younger age than Manning ever had. I also can’t believe that Indy and Peyton are as bad as they’ve looked. Baltimore’s defense is good but isn’t that the perfect time to show you are one of the best quarterbacks and teams in the league?
MINNESOTA vs Detroit – If getting beat 34-7 is how you get pumped up when the worst GM in sports is fired from your team, I’m very interested to see how the Lions get pumped up for a divisional game. Look for the Minnesota defense to outscore the Lions offense, over the last three games. But this just in to J Beanie… Jon Kitna missed practiced yesterday and may not play Sunday. So I don’t know if Dan Orlovsky or Drew Stanton give them a better chance of winning or not, but it sure can’t be a worse chance.
NEW ORLEANS vs Oakland – New Orleans is a tease. They are like the girl at the bar who is letting buy her drinks, wearing nothing but basically a bra, tight jeans with her thong hanging out, rubbing up on you, little kisses on the check, hands on your thigh but then when it’s time to leave, she gets on the phone and calls some other guy. The Saints should be a good team. They are better than their 2-3 record but somehow they just keep losing games. At some point, they are going to start winning and I’m going to pick them every win to start that run just like I’ll waste my time talking to the tease at the bar just because there is always a chance she’ll come home with me.
NY JETS vs Cincinnati - Carson Palmer may not play again. We saw what happened last time that happened; the Browns beat them. Two weeks ago Brett Favre threw six touchdown passes. This week he may throw 10.
CAROLINA at Tampa - Tampa’s defense is playing amazing but Brian Griese is their quarterback. Oh wait. He’s hurt and Jeff Garcia is going to play. If Griese has been this bad, and he beat out Garcia for the starting job, how about is Garcia now? Carolina looks like a real contender, just keep throwing the ball to Muhammad (I hear if you don’t, he’ll blow up the stadium).
WASHINGTON vs St. Louis - In the no brainer pick of the week. However, since it’s such an easy pick, maybe it’s too easy and the Ram would win. Then I read this on ESPN the morning: “Skins’ Taylor back at practice.” What, what, what?!?! God must really love the Redskins to perform this miracle. No way the ‘Skins lose the rest of the year.
MIAMI at Houston - Note to the Texans: Miami will line Ronnie Brown up at quarterback 12-20 plays in the game. When this happens, don’t act surprised. It’s a simple option play. My surprise team of 2009 continues to surprise people by running the same play over and over.
JACKSONVILLE at Denver - Don’t have much to say about this game. Denver’s defense isn’t good. Does that work?
DALLAS at Arizona - If you had Week 6 is the “When will Pacman get in trouble” poll, congratulations. You’re a winner. If you had Week 5 in the “When will we hear about Kurt Warner and is relationship with God and see his ugly wife (who somehow is looking not so ugly this year)” poll, congratulations. You, too, are a winner. And if you had Week 5 in the “TO press conference that leaves you saying ‘what the hell is he talking about?’” poll, then congratulations. You are also a winner.
PHILADELPHIA at San Francisco - Phily’s had tough schedule so they need a win this week more than just about any other team to keep up with the rest of the division. I don’t think it matters if Westbrook plays or not, they should get the W.
GREEN BAY at Seattle - Just when Aaron Rodgers is starting to struggle, he gets the perfect remedy, the Seattle Seahawks, who… not stay with me here… are more than likely are going to start… are you ready for this… Charlie Frye. Yep, our old friend Chuck Frye. There’s something that should pump up a 1-3 team. “Guys we aren’t very good and the only team we’ve beat isn’t going to win a game this year, but don’t worry, things are looking up. Now, meet you starting quarterback, Chris Frye.” CF: “Coach, it’s Charlie.”
NEW ENGLAND at San Diego - TL is obviously hurt, the Chargers defense can’t cover G$, and Philip Rivers thinks he’s good. The Chargers aren’t who we thought they were. If you’re going to crown them, then crown them. But the Chargers aren’t who we thought they were. They are much worse.
CLEVELAND over NY Giant - I’ll you all about it Monday.
I could argue that Ronnie Brown and Portis are both better fantasy RB’s right now, in fact, I did so at my place today.
If Taylor is back practicing with the Skins, we are not losing another game this season. Unfortunately, we’ll have to settle with the guy that I’m sure W watched a lot of on DWTS kill DA next week.
Upset of the week…I want to say the Browns here but I think the Cardinals outscore Dallas.
Dancing With the Stars is a good show. Lot of hot women on there too dancing very seductively… what’s not to like? unless however… you’re gay. But then they’d have something for you too because Lance Bass is on the show.
W – did you just say people who don’t watch dancing with the stars are gay? I sure hope not b/c that isn’t how you want to come back from your suspension. That’s like serving a five-game suspension in the NBA and the first game back you run off the bench and punch someone. Of course you’re going to get suspended again.
G$ – you do know I was making a Sean Taylor joke there right?
Yeah, I got it. That’s why I said that unfortunately it’s only W’s dancing idol instead of 21.
W, could you please inform all of us of every TV show that you watch religiously. Because after Housewives and Dancing With The Stars, I’m starting to think that you are a mid-40’s woman that drinks box wine.
Glad to have you back in full force, W. Graig I believe you were a viewer of Dancing with the Stars while you were watching your girl Misty May. I bet you had it on the medium screen.
Also, a little of topic, but I made a trade in one of my fantasy leagues last week. I traded Portis for Thomas Jones and Santonio Holmes. First, I was the one who offered the trade. Second, my WR were Plaxico, who was suspended last week, Patrick Crayton and Anthony Gonzales. Those were my three best, which without Plaxico I had to start James Hardy. Third, I already have Slaton, Michael Turner, and Earnest Graham and I can only play 2 RB. Considering my terrible WR and my solid depth at RB, I thought it was a trade I could afford to make even though giving up Portis is a lot to give up. Also, the guy I traded with didn’t want any of my other backs. Just wanted to get you fellas opinion on that.
Sorry about the long post, but I haven’t done a damn thing at work today and probably won’t the rest of the day either.
Seems like you could have got a better WR than Holmes. We got sold short.
I have NEVER watched DWTS.
That was an awful trade. I would be willing to bet that ANY owner in that league would deal a mediocre WR for a stud RB. You could have done much, much better. Especially with the Rams, Browns, and Lions defenses on the Skins schedule coming up. I wouldn’t trade Portis (who I have in my league) for any WR.
Beanie,
I ddidn’t mean to sound like I was saying if you didn’t watch the show, you are gay, cause I haven’t watched an episode yet this year. I was simply saying that if you don’t like watching women dancing around in skimpy outifts doing seductive moves, you need to check yourself.
Graig,
Religously I watch Entourage, The Office, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Fringe, CSI… thats about it. I mostly watch sports or play my video games. And you forgot to add that I would have a bunch of cats if I was a 40 year old woman drinking a box of wine.
Damman,
As my favorite blogger on here, I have to give it to you straight and tell you I don’t like your trade. Portis is peaking on a very surprising Redskins team and Jones never puts it in the endzone. I know cause I have him on my team. Santonio isn’t scoring either. Kind of sounds like you were making a trade to fulfill one week but forgot about the remaining weeks. I think you got the tail end of the deal. What do I know though? They could both have breakout 2nd half seasons.
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to respond to each blogger.

I agree that it was a very questionable trade and that I was bit short sighted. I was desparate for some WR help and had a lot of depth at RB. But, when I think about it, who cares if my WR suck if I get tons of points from my RB? I also have Brees as my QB in a very generous scoring league so he racks up big points every week. So I would have had Plax, Brees, Portis and either Slaton or Turner starting every week. Basically, the more that I think about it, I am a dipshit.
But, Graig, I am loving having Greg Jennings right now. How is Carson looking for the rest of the year? Thanks for that trade by the way.
LOL… What a surprise year for Slaton. Who saw that coming? You are/were stacked with your RBs. Do you have a flex position or RB/WR? Those would be 3 legit RBs to start each week.
I have Jennings too. Him and TO are my starters every week. I also have Chambers and Lee Evans. I have 4 of the top ten WRs and I cannot find anyone to offer me a decent RB for any one them. My recent offer was Baltimore D and Rudi Johnson for Lee Evans. I counterd with Lee Evans and Thomas Jones for Portis… which will be declined.
Westbrook is out… anyone have Buckhalter in your league?
I can only start two RB. I wouldn’t have made the trade if there was a flex. I kinda got sick of having to make that tough decision on who to play/sit every week. I’m pretty lazy.
Winslow spent the night at the Cleveland Clinic with an “undisclosed illness,” and is questionable for Monday. I have a feeling that that “undiscolsed illness” is soon to become staff infection. Winslow is done for the year. You heard it here first.
Undisclosed illness is actually “gigantic testicles”. Ouch.
Palmer for Jennings now doesn’t look very good. But D.A. forced me to make that decision. I am proud to be in the Kyle Orton business these days.
Hear the same the same thing as you Graig. He has Elephantitis. Which probably means he has an STD. I heard he is a man who likes his women.
Was that supposed to be a joke or is that really the problem?
You guys are out of control and boring my readers.
D, I am serious. That is just a rumor I have heard though. I can’t say it’s 100% true. It kind of makes sense though cause they are not releasing anything about him (embarassing), and they said he didn’t feel well on Monday but didn’t send him to the hospital til Thursday.
Beanie, what are you talking about? This is the most interesting topic I’ve been a part of since I joined.
It’s on Profootballtalk.com and he IS a soldier and all.
