I apologize for not posting yesterday. The work load is going to start picking up here at work, especially on Monday’s so there may be a some Monday’s I don’t get around to posting something. I apologize in advance.
With that out of the way, what the hell was that last night?!?! That was the ugliest display I’ve ever seen. It was hideous, outrageous, absurd. Then there was the actually football game. The only thing uglier than the way the Cleveland Browns played, was the pants they were wore. My goodness, how do you expect to play well when you look like you fell in a pool of shit? How about just wear the normal uniforms? Brown pants, orange pants, orange jerseys; they all suck. (Unless they go all orange or all brown. Then it would be so ugly it might look good.)
But what an embarrassment. I can’t believe I’m excited about this Browns season. Last night’s game looked like Graig was at the controls of a video game. It looked like he has his DA voodoo doll out and was hitting him in the kidneys. Everything that could have went wrong did.
Our starting quarterback gets hurt. (At least Quinn looked decent in back-up.)
Our Pro Bowl return man, spark plug and arguably most important player was in a walking boot after the game.
Our number one CB can’t cover a teams No. 4 and 5 receiver. If Eric Wright can’t cover Domenik Hixon or Sinorice Moss, how the hell is he going to cover a real NFL receiver.
Our captain on defense and leading tackler got a penalty for “swinging and missing” a Giants player. How embarrassing is it to get penalties for “attempting to hit someone.” At least hit him. That’s like getting AIDs for attempting to sleep with a hot chick and her denying you.
The Giants scored when the Browns had the ball inside their own five yard line at inside the Browns five yard line. That can’t happen very often.
The Browns highlight was a long kick return that ended with a bobbled hand off and touchdown for the NYG.
The best player for the Browns was a back-up fullback who, as Tony Grossi of the PD said it made some “crushing blocks to sprang Lewis for runs of 9 and 3 yards.” Really? That was the highlight. Blocks on runs of 12 yards?
The Browns “sweet” touchdown pass should have be intercepted.
The Browns have a lot to work on. Like everything. I really can’t think of one positive to pull from this game besides it was a preseason game. There is still three weeks and two more preseason games to go before the opener with Dallas. But at this rate, the way the Browns look, the brown pants they worn last night will be replaced by brown underwear by all the fans as we shit on ourselves for thinking we are a real team.
I’m not giving up on the season but hopefully this serves as a wake up call for the team and lights a fire under them. The 2008 season was suppose to be something different, something new, something exciting, something promising. Not a repeat of the 2000 season.
At the Indians open a very important series tonight in a battle for division standings. Yep, it’s a battle for fourth place in the American League Central with the Kansas City Royals. Sweet. Go Cleveland teams.
