With not much to talk about today and lots of stuff to do at work, we’ll get make this a quick post. I saw a great picture of Joe Paterno in the Plain Dealer today. I can’t find a copy online to post it here but it reminded me of a very accurate, insightful and well spoken quote: “Old people don’t need companionship. They need to be isolated and studied so it can be determined what nutrients they have that might be extracted for our personal use.” They are also very easy to make fun of. And when a man as old as JoePa is still in the public light, there will be plenty of photos capturing him in poses that makes it even easier.
“When you get old, it looks like this.”
“I pulled the short straw so I had to be the one to tell you Coach, but I’m sorry, that isn’t a toilet.”
What leadership! The entire Penn State team escorts their coach to the bathroom during the third quarter.
“I said I wanted my meat cut up for me!!!”
Joe Pa just found we won World War II. “U-S-A! U-S-A!!”
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what this ‘forward pass’ is you speak of.”
“Come on. I’m 83-years old. Do you really think I know what I’m doing?”
“This is how we used to jitterbug.”
