Paying my dues to Miami/Graig

 

Let me start this post by saying, I hate you Graig. Miami beat OU last night. Beat them pretty good. It was a back-and-forth game and looked like it would come down to the final minute. Most games that were this close probably would have but this is OU. They are known for underachieving and sucking when it matters most. Miami took it to them late in the second half and OU played like they wished they were at The Pub. No excuse. I live up to my bets. Miami is/was the better team this year. Maybe this will finally get rid of Tim O’Shea and his complicated flex offense. OU will never be good with him. Below are some thoughts I had during the game. Even as the game was close, I had a feeling Miami was going to pull away. I hate when I’m right. Oh well, it’s just OU basketball. We don’t worry to much about that anyway. We still have a better campus, prettier/sluttier girls, better bars and better late night food. But for one night Miami kicked our butts. Congrats. You are the better basketball team. If your assistant coach can out-coach our head coach, it’s time for a coaching change. 

 

I couldn’t find a good shot of Miami celebrating to put on here, which was the bet, but I think Graig will enjoy this picture even more.

 

(Do you think he’s crying because he lost or because his name is Bubba? Only the latter is a worthwhile reason to cry.) 

 

Here are my thoughts as the game went a long. 

 

Alright, its 9:37 and it’s the final commercial break before the game that makes Graig finally admit that OU is better than Miami and puts the pictures up to go alone with it. Let’s get it on. I think I’m going to need popcorn to get through this game. It’s way past my bed time…

 

…OK, tip off time at 9:41…

 

…OU wins tip = OU wins game.

 

…First bucket, three for Tillman, good sign. And a turnover to a bucket. I’m lovin’ it. 

 

…OU 10-1 then Miami 14-10. I don’t like how this is going. 

 

…As soon as I type that, back to back three’s for OU. 

 

…As soon as I type that, an and-one for Miami. I might be done typing.

 

…I remember why I hate Miami, they are all white. Them racist bastards. OU is all black. (I know Bubba Walthers is white but come on, we all know he really isn’t)

 

…I thought I could get over it, but can’t. Why in the name of technology does FSN not spring for HD cameras at the MAC games? I hate watching basketball in non-HD. Come to think of it, why do they only broadcast like 20 Cavs games in HD? If you have HD cameras, why not use them all the time? It makes viewers happier and makes your company look like they are cheap bastards. It’s a win-win.

 

…Good clock management by Miami at the end of the half. Way to get a shot off. Who is their coach? Joe Gibbs? Tom Coughlin? Art Shell?

 

…A pretty enjoyable first half of basketball. Of course, it would have been better of OU wouldn’t have blown that 10-1 lead. But it was still a good first half. Of course it could be a crappy game between two high school girls teams and it’d still be enjoyable. Why you ask? None other than Michael Reghi. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, he is the greatest. I miss him. The number one reason this game is enjoyable, I haven’t heard one thing about DiGiornio’s Pizza or a “he he he” or a “ha ha ha ha… yeah” yet.

 

…There have been eight lead changes. How do you think Chuck’s heart is holding up?

 

…Has there ever been a more opposite coaching guys, at least looking, than Charlie Coles and the thick, black guy that is his replacement for the game?

 

 …I thought this would be a low scoring game but it looks like it will be in the 80s, and the four point lead for Miami right now, at 13:20 may be the biggest lead of the half. 

 

…This Ohio State commercial (don’t even know what it’s for) where the two guys dressed up the exact same saying “Buckeye” over and over is by for the worst commercial of all time. I long for John Mellencamp and his Chevy commercials. At least the commercial is right on about how annoying Buckeye fans are in real life. 

 

…OU in the bonus at 10:31 could be huge down the stretch. (of course, you have to make free throws)

 

…It’s only a four point game at 6:00 but I just don’t have a good feeling about this. If I have to put a Miami picture on this site, I might need a long vacation.

 

…Miami misses a three from the corner, OU has the rebound, then it hits off the top of the back board, goes to a Miami guy for an easy lay up and a huge 6-point lead with 4:22 to play. That’s the breaks Miami is going to get. That could be a sign of things to come.

 

…Bubba killed OU. Way to shoot white boy. 

 

…That intenional foul was weak. He just didn’t want him to make a lay-up. It’s a good play. 

 

…Damn you Graig.

 

…Classic OU style. I should have known.

…Come on invitation to the College Basketball Invitational (incase you didn’t know, that’s the new tournament for all the teams that couldn’t even get into the NIT). Now that’s got to make you feel good, Bobcats. At least our women’s team is still playing, unlike Miami’s. Oh God, I just resorted to women’s basketball for an insult. I feel insulted.
