Poor Wade, dunking, and fat Phil

~ I’m almost starting to feel bad for Dwyane Wade. The Miami Heat are horrible. The Knicks think they are bad. The 1986 LA Clippers are laughing at them. The worse team in the history of the Association, the 1972-72 Philadelphia 76ers (went 9-73) feel sorry for the heat.

Eight wins. That’s all the Heat have won this year. Only the worthless Minnesota Timberwolves have a worse record (6-34), but everyone knew they would be bad since they are basically just the Boston Celtics of last year. I knew when the Heat acquired Ricky Davis they would be bad but even Ricky didn’t know he was this big of a cancer. The Heat have gone 53-70 since winning the NBA Championship two years ago.

Poor D-Wade. Like I said, I’m almost starting to feel sorry for him. But not really since he did win a championship. Doesn’t it make you appreciate LeBron James even more. Both guys have to basically carry their teams and are doing so with similar players but with much different results. I’d give the Cavs the better team but not really by that much. It’s just LeBron knows how to make guys around him better and how to win games when he has to. Plus it helps that he doesn’t have Ricky Davis on his team.

~ The Slam Dunk contestants were announced. Defending champion Gerald Green is joined by Jamario Moon, Rudy Gay and last year’s participant Dwight Howard. As far as the Slam Dunk contest has gone down hill in past years, it’s still a big draw and I still watch it. However, rules do need to be changed. Most notably the Nate Robinson rule, as I like to call it, that allows dunkers to have as many attempts as possible. There is suppose to be a new format for the final round so hopefully it’s something good. As for the contestants themselves. Green deserves it, Gay I know can throw down, don’t really know about Moon but he seems to be a rising, athletic star but Howard shouldn’t be in it again. I like him a lot last year. I loved his sticker of himself on the backboard dunk. But there’s a problem. He’s 6’10” and his dunks aren’t as impressive as a 6’5” guy. He had his chance last year. They should have found a new person. I hope on wrong on that because I do like Dwight.

~ Finally, the real PGA season starts this weekend since Tiger Woods and Phil Mickleson are set to play in the Buick Open. Oh wait, what? Phil may miss the tournament because of a respiratory problem. Hmmm, not even John Daly misses tournaments because he’s fat and can’t breathe. What’s that say about Man Boobs Phil?
