The apple doesn’t fall far from the drunken dad

I didn’t feel like writing anything today. It’s Friday, I want to get out of work, I think I’m going to Columbus to finally see my buddy’s house, I’m annoyed at work, my boss won’t shut up and I want to drive my head through my computer screen.
Add that together and you get a blogger who doesn’t feel like blogging. That is, until I check Mlive.com’s Michigan football page. I was hoping to see any update on the UM coaching search but I found something better. The headline on the top story read, “U-M assistant coach charged with refusing breathalyzer.” Reading the first line of the story, “University of Michigan assistant football coach Andy Moeller was arrested Saturday evening at the scene of a two-vehicle accident and has been charged with refusing to submit to a preliminary breath test.”
All I can say is, like father like son. That’s right. Andy Moeller is the son of former Michigan coach Gary Moeller. I read that headline and thought “please, please, let that be the son of Gary.” It didn’t mention that fact in the Mlive article but a quick search of Andy Moeller proved it was true.
If you don’t remember, Gary was the coach of Michigan until 1995 when he was taped being arrested for disorderly conduct and then threw a drunken 19-year old girl who thought she got rooffied like tantrum.
And get a suit that fits you. Look at all the room in the neck. Really? You are getting your picture taken for the University of Michigan and you can’t get a suit that fits you?
Andy refused the breath test and was taken to the hospital to get a blood test done. The results are pending but no one refuses a breathalyzer test if he’s sober. Nice work Andy. When the school is looking for a head coach, and your job is in jeopardy, you bring nothing but class to the university. Well done. I hope somewhere tapes of Andy yell at the police like his dad did come out. I could see him yelling the classic “Do you know who I am?” line or the “Do you know who my dad is?”
Well done Andy. Good job in living up to the family name. Your dad must be so proud of you.

And doesn’t Gary look like the dad from “The Wonder Years”
Don’t you ever compare Gary Moeller to the great Dan Lauria!!! Blasphemy.
