Good-bye Yankees and good ridden. How great was the Tribe’s 6-4 win over New York last night? I’d compare it to as great as the Cavs beating the Pistons and winning the Eastern Conference Championship, only greater because everyone hates the Yankees more than the Pistons. The win was like that nerdy, skinny high school kid who gets picked on and picked and then after high school works out all the time, gets buff, runs into the guy who always picked on him at a bar and then the transformed nerd leaves with the other guy’s girlfriend. It’s that good of a feeling.

And who questioned Paul Byrd? Great choice by Wedge. Who said Shoppach shouldn’t catch Byrd even though he has all year? Another great choice by Wedge. Who said Wang should start on three days rest? Great choice by Torre (not that Mussina would have been that much better of a choice).

Grady Sizemore basically won the series with the first at-bat of the game. His home run set the tone and really emotionally hurt the Yanks. The biggest play of the game though was when Derek Jeter, Captain Clutch himself, grounded into a double play with runners on first and third with one out in the sixth. I guess he was spending too much time with A-Rod. Who again was very clutch himself, two stikeouts, a meaningless home run and huge pop fly for out number 2 in the ninth. Maybe Jeter just felt sorry for A-Rob and wanted to keep him company. It will be funny though, I guarantee all the media focus and A-Rod’s lack of offense in the series and give another free pass to Jeter.
Borowski came in and did what he had done all year. Get the save and make it interesting. I was never worried. Though, if Posada’s strike two was 20 feet to the left, I would have been. But he ended up striking him out and closing the series.
So to all you Yankee fans, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
I don’t want to hear another word from you until you beat us in the playoffs or win a World Series again. I’m sure you have all kinds of excuses for why you loss. You probably began making a list of excuses after the Indians scored three in the bottom of the first in Game 1, a la, Sienfeld’s list to avoid his annoying friend. You loss to a better team. Sure you’re offense put up great numbers but the Indians are clearly the better team and there’s no way you can say other wise. You just have to eat it for a while. That’s something I guess you’ve got use to since 2001, and especially the last three years. The only thing that sucks about this is now, for some ungawdly reason, the Yankees will still dominate the news. Will Torre stay? Will A-Rod stay? Will Posada stay? No one cares. Be gone with you all. Enjoy watching the Indians and Red Sox play in the series you once dominated.
Bye-Bye New York. Bring on Boston.
Yep, got nothing to say. When do the Cavs start?
I could get a lineup of 9 bloggers together and we would score more than 2 runs off Byrdshit. Pathetic.
While watching the game last night, Pete and I decided that Paul Byrd is Phil Dawson’s semi-retarded brother.
